    The Ask AI Developer feature provides a specialized AI assistant for programming and development questions. Unlike the standard Ask feature, this uses a model optimized for code understanding and generation.

    How It Differs from Ask

    Using the Feature

    Accessing Ask AI Developer

    1. Click the Ask AI Developer tab in the navigation header
    2. The interface layout is similar to the standard Ask feature, but optimized for code-related queries

    Submitting Questions

    1. Type your development question in the search input
    2. Press Enter or click submit
    3. The AI processes your request using the code-specialized model

    Working with Code

    The AI can:

    • Generate code in multiple programming languages
    • Explain existing code snippets
    • Suggest improvements and best practices
    • Help with error messages and debugging

    Code in responses is displayed with:

    • Syntax highlighting for readability
    • Proper indentation and formatting

    Technology: Ask AI Developer uses the codellama model, specifically trained on code and programming tasks. Requests are sent to the /ask/dev endpoint. Unlike the document-based Ask feature, this operates without RAG context, relying on the model's trained knowledge of programming languages, frameworks, and development practices.
